
The College Place Hawks athletes and teams are getting ready for the 2025 Fall Postseason! Here’s a breakdown of postseason formats and key dates for each sport.

As the regular season wraps up across all fall sports, CPHS athletes and coaches are preparing for postseason competition. Here’s a complete breakdown of playoff scenarios, key dates, and tournament formats for all the fall sports teams:

Football
The Hawks will close out their regular season at Zillah on Thursday, October 30th, 7pm Kickoff.
We anticipate a Week 10 Football Crossover matchup on Nov. 7th to play one final game of the season, the opponent and site is TBD. Stay tuned.
Volleyball
The volleyball team wraps up its regular season on Thursday, October 23rd at Royal.
District 5 Tournament Qualification: Top six teams from the SCAC and top two from the Caribou Trail League qualify.
- Seeding: All eight teams will be seeded on Wednesday, October 29th by a district seeding committee.
- Tournament Format:
- Saturday, November 1st: The top two seeds host first and second-round games.
- Wednesday, Nov 5th: Elimination Games at Zillah
- Saturday, November 8th: District 5 Championship at a neutral site (TBD once finalists are known).
- State Qualification:
- 1st and 2nd place teams qualify for state.
- 3rd and 4th place teams play a winner-to-state, loser-out District 5/6 crossover on Saturday, November 8th.

Girls Soccer
The girls’ soccer team also concludes the regular season on Thursday, October 23rd at Royal.
District 5 Tournament Qualification: Top six SCAC teams and top two from the Caribou Trail League advance.
- Seeding: Decided by committee on Wednesday, October 29th.
- Tournament Schedule:
- Thursday, October 30th: First-round games hosted by the top four seeds.
- Saturday, November 8th: District 5 Championship held at Royal High School.
- State Qualification:
- Top two teams qualify for state.
- 3rd and 4th place teams play a winner-to-state, loser-out District 5/6 crossover on Saturday, November 8th.

Cross Country
The cross-country team heads to Yakima for their postseason races at the District 5/6 State Qualifying Meet on Saturday, November 1st, hosted at Apple Ridge Cross-Country Course (5000 Naches Heights Rd.).
- Schedule:
- 2:15 PM – Coaches Meeting
- 2:30 PM – Opening Ceremonies
- 3:00 PM – Girls Varsity Race
- 3:45 PM – Boys Varsity Race
- 4:30 PM – Awards Ceremony
- State Qualifying:
- Top 4 teams and top 28 individuals in both boys’ and girls’ races qualify for state.
- State Meet: Set for Saturday, November 8th at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
- 1A Girls – 10:00 AM
- 1A Boys – 12:00 PM
